Legacy of Rosena
("The Legacy of Rosena" was based on a play written by Sentousha's Art Club and developed into a full scale story.)
The story begins in a Kingdom named Rosena, or Empire of Light.Legend has it that, from a very long time ago, this Empire was blessed by the dark-haired Ruza - Goddess of flowers, happiness and pledges.Ruza promised to protect Rosena from all harm. In return, all the dark-haired princesses born into the royal family will have to sacrifice their happiness, and never be with the person they love.Generations after generations, the blessing, or curse, have always been fulfilled; by the hand of fate, or, sometimes, people; and Rosena became one of the most prosperous nations. Until one day, Lolita - the Crown Princess of the sixth dynasty - inherited the throne, became the seventh ruler of the Empire. Hers was the most tragic and lost fate of them all.
She swore to never fall in love, only to lose the most important people in life: her parents. She mourned the soldiers who lost their lives in protecting their Empire against the greedy and brutal neighbor country, but couldn't express to anyone, to avoid making her people fluctuated. She wanted to end "the curse", and Rosena to stand up for themselves, instead of relying in a false covenant and ignoring the fact, that they were gradually heading towards self-destruction.She managed to do that, with the cost of her life. She died in the arms of the only person left in this world who truly loved her - who breathed his last even before her, in an attempt to bring her back to their homeland one last time before she passed away.
Since then, there was no other dark-haired princesses born in the land of Rosena. And no more tears were shed at the foot of the statue of Ruza. Her heart and hope will forever endure through time, as long as the story of the Empire of Light continues.
By The Sea
Human feeds on animals and consider it normal. How do they call mermaids monster just because they feed on human?
Once upon the time, there was a poor Prince who was voiceless at birth. His cursed fate got him banished to the secluded palace by the sea.His one and only friend was a mermaid. She got caught as a baby, and given to the Prince as a consolation gift. He raised her until she grew up enough to go back to the ocean. Yet she always came back to him.None of them could say a word, but they didn't need one to grow fond of each other. However, just normal food was not enough for mermaid. They craved human flesh. Living without it would drive them mad and ferocious.Hence, the Prince came up with an idea. He asked for the prisoners, the most despicable ones, to be escorted to the seaside palace. There, they got the chance to behold the extraordinary beauty of his mermaid, in exchange, they turned into her meal.
Cruel as it may sound, to the Prince, there's nothing in such heartless world could compare to his friend. She's the only one that didn't despite his fate, nor would she leave him to his own demise in the middle of nowhere like the rest.Sometimes, he would visit her by the shore and use his flute to blow her grieving melodies. Some other times, it's her who sang for him waving songs of the sea. Just like that, those poor souls only had one another's company.
For the record, he made one painting of the mermaid. Among his shiny, empty treasure, it was the only thing he cherished.Hundreds of years later, the world might forget about the merciless Prince who's wasted away silently in the deserted palace; they might forget about his loyal, dreadful mermaid. But the painting shall remind them the tale of two outcasts, who got shunned by the society just because they didn't own human voice by choice.
